about us
Clinical Director and CEO
Welcome
Terapia is one of the leading Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy and Counselling training organisations in the UK. We also provide highly specialised counselling, psychotherapy and bespoke mental health services for young people, children, parents and families, and offer our facilities for hire to psychotherapists and counsellors.
Our training is demanding; our graduates offer the highest standard of knowledge and therapeutic skills in the psychotherapy profession. Each student on Terapia’s course is required to provide counselling and psychotherapy hours with children of all ages as well as their parents as part of their training requirements. This affords us with the potential to deliver an invaluable service to families who would otherwise not be able to afford it. We have the psychotherapeutic expertise and facilities to make a lasting difference working with other agencies and linking education, mental health and social services. We aim to put positive examples of joined up thinking into practice.

We also hold accreditation from the United Kingdom of Council of Psychotherapy (UKCP), the Professional Standards Authority (PSA) and we are organisational members of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Graduates of our MA course are eligible for membership with the European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP) and BACP individual accreditation.
Our main activities focus on:
- Providing MA training in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy and Counselling and Supervision training for counsellors, counselling psychologists and psychotherapists.
- Providing counselling and psychotherapy to adolescents, children, parents and families.
- Providing training, support and advice to families, parents and professionals involved in working with children using the expertise of our trainers, graduates and trainees.
- Providing specialised mental health services on an outreach basis to local schools, family centres and community organisations.
- Liaising with local statutory and non-statutory sector organisations towards establishing child integrated services.
- Providing relief work for existing services in the local communities which are currently unable to meet the demand for psychological services and forensic work with children and adolescents. [/read]
